YPN Member Spotlight

YPN Member Spotlight - Taylor Jacobsen

YPN Member Taylor Jacobsen

This week, during the YPN Membership Drive, we'll be spotlighting YPN member Taylor Jacobsen, North Central Insurance.

1 - Favorite thing to do in Sioux Falls?
Even though it's a short season in South Dakota, my favorite thing to do is to get out on the golf links with my friends as much as time allows.

2 - How'd you end up in your current profession?
I grew up in Clark (SD), with my father owning an insurance agency, while also running a farm mutual insurance company. After college I never expected to immediately join the industry, but I took a position with a large carrier, spent a few years there, and then moved over to the agency side at North Central in 2014.

3- What are you reading right now?
I'm always reading articles and magazines related to my career and business. However, I'm just finishing Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking. It's been an intriguing read for an introverted person like myself.

4 - What's the best piece of advice you've gotten?
Mentors have given me endless advice and shown me how to be truly committed. However, the simplest and best advice has been "when all else fails do the right thing."

5 - Why did you join YPN, and how has it helped you?
The reason I joined YPN was to develop relationships with peers and leaders throughout the Sioux Falls community. It is a great networking tool and has helped me get more involved in our community.
