Friends of the Big Sioux River is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Big Sioux River and its watershed through improved water quality, community education, and conservation efforts. Their work focuses on creating a healthier river system while promoting the environmental, recreational, and economic benefits the river provides to our region. During this event, attendees will learn more about the organization’s mission, current initiatives, and the importance of community partnerships in preserving the Big Sioux River for future generations. We're kicking off YP Gives, a new quarterly initiative where YPN partners with Sioux Empire United Way to give back to the Sioux Falls community through hands-on volunteering. This quarter, we're heading to Feeding South Dakota; the state's largest hunger-relief organization, working to end hunger across all 66 counties, from metro areas to rural communities and Native American Reservations. Join us for July’s Our Sioux Falls featuring Levitt at the Falls! Come learn how Levitt at the Falls is building community through music and creating a vibrant gathering space in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls. As part of a national network of outdoor performance venues, Levitt at the Falls hosts 50 free professional concerts each summer, bringing people together through live, outdoor music. During this month’s Our Sioux Falls, participants will get an inside look at how Levitt at the Falls makes an impact across our community, including: Supporting local retailers and downtown businesses through increased foot traffic Drawing visitors and tourism to Sioux Falls Helping make Sioux Falls an attractive place for young professionals to live and work Creating opportunities for connection across our growing and diverse community Registration is required and limited to the first 25 participants. Employment Disability Resources is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping businesses successfully recruit, retain, and promote qualified individuals with disabilities. Since its founding in 2009, the organization has worked to connect employers with resources, education, and strategies that create more inclusive workplaces and strengthen workforce participation across our community. During this event, attendees will learn more about Employment Disability Resources’ mission, current initiatives, and the important role they play in supporting both employers and individuals with disabilities.
