    How does the Chamber make sure the voice of the business community is heard? For the second event in our four-part Our Sioux Falls series, we’re diving into advocacy and public policy. Learn how the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce identifies issues that matter to local businesses, develops its policy priorities and advocates on behalf of its members at the local, state and federal levels. We’ll also explore the different ways Chamber members can stay informed, engage with important issues and make their own voices heard. You don’t have to be a policy expert to get involved.     YPN Community Connections Tour: Aerostar

    Take a behind-the-scenes look at more than 70 years of aerospace innovation during December’s Community Connections Tour at Aerostar. With roots dating back to Raven Industries and the earliest days of high-altitude research ballooning, Aerostar has played a role in advancing lighter-than-air technology from right here in Sioux Falls. Over the decades, its work has evolved from research balloons and the invention of the modern hot air balloon to high-altitude platforms, radar systems, protective solutions and advanced manufacturing supporting critical missions around the world. Today, Aerostar continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible, including setting a world record in 2025 for the longest continuous controllable flight in the stratosphere at 336 days. Join us for a tour of Aerostar to learn more about the company’s history, explore the technology and manufacturing happening in Sioux Falls, and see how a local team is helping connect, protect and save lives around the world.     Join us for A Seat at the Table with Dr. Jamie Nold, Superintendent of the Sioux Falls School District, for a conversation about leadership, education and serving a growing community. With more than three decades of experience in education, Dr. Nold has served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal and district administrator before becoming Superintendent in 2025. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to creating opportunities for students while leading teams through growth, change and the evolving needs of the community. As Superintendent, Dr. Nold provides leadership for one of the largest school districts in the region, overseeing thousands of students and staff across elementary, middle and high schools, as well as specialized programs and facilities throughout Sioux Falls. Hear about Dr. Nold’s leadership journey, the lessons he has learned throughout his career and what it takes to lead a complex organization that plays such an important role in the future of Sioux Falls. A Seat at the Table is an opportunity for YPN members to hear directly from local leaders in an intimate setting, ask questions and gain insight from their experiences.
